Strong quake in eastern Indonesia, no tsunami (Reuters)

JAKARTA (Reuters) – A brawny seism struck soured Indonesia's Tanimbar Islands in the easterly of the land on Saturday, but there was no wave signal issued and no reports of unmediated damage, the country's forecasting authority said.

The U.S. Geological Survey pegged the tremble at ratio 6.0 and its epicentre was 270 km (168 miles) northerly north of Saumlaki in the Tanimbar islands at a depth of 56 km (35 miles).
